19 October 2009 15 Comments

More amazing research findings are being made in research centers of the Malaysia’s local universities. The PECIPTA 09 exhibition, which had been held from 8-10 October 2009, uncovers these new findings, which contribute towards a more progressive society. Among many amazing research presented, in a project led by Prof Dr Kaida Khalid on “Processes for Production Virgin Coconut Oil, Coconut Cooking Oil and Raw Material for Coconut Biodiesel”, he proposed that the present invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of virgin coconut oil, raw material for biodiesel and cooking oil from the coconut milk by applying microwave-separation technology.

It is based on the optimum setup of microwave power, time and temperature. This new process is chemical-free, quicker, very eases to operate and provides high yields of biodiesel, virgin coconut oil and cooking oil. For more details, please visit PECIPTA 2009.
